We welcomed our second child to the world on April 15th. Harper Sue Baker was 7 lbs. 2. oz, and she has the most kissable round cheeks and the cutest button nose. We're in love.

Mom and Dad are very tired, but we're doing really well. Harper is a pretty easygoing baby thus far, but she is the most difficult baby to burp that I've encountered. It takes more time to get her to burp than anything else! That is especially difficult in the middle of the night when we're trying not to fall asleep in the rocking chair.

When we were pregnant with Emma, we had originally thought that she would be Harper. But one day, I realized I felt that Emma was meant to be an Emma Rose, not a Harper Rose, and Erik agreed. We both had liked the name Harper, but it just wasn't right then. With this pregnancy, we looked at a couple of girl names, but we kept going back to Harper. This time it felt right.

We like the middle names to mean something, so we chose Sue, after Erik's grandma.

Emma's doing great as a new big sister. She definitely has her emotional moments where she throws a tantrum--whether because Mom can't pick her up because I'm holding Harper or we won't let Emma sit in the baby swing, bouncer chair, or bassinet--but she likes cuddling her baby sister, and she will grab me diapers or wipes to help change Harper. I'm very proud of her because she is going through such a life change.

I'm a blessed mommy. We've faced a few challenges already that were to be expected with having a newborn and a toddler, and I know that this won't always be easy. But it's so worth it. We have amazing girls, and I'm so excited to watch as they grow into amazing people.
